A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.

Citizens of Türkiye need to apply for a visitor's visato enter Norway. If you plan to stay longer than90 days, you need to apply for a residencepermitto enter Norway.

Applicants who must apply for a visa to Norway and Schengen:
Citizens of: Türkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan must apply for a visa. Also citizens of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan must apply for a Schengen visa via another country's visa service(see below).
Applicants who do not need a visa to Norway and Schengen:
Citizens of: Albania, Bosnia- and Hercegovina,Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North-Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine who holds a biometric passport, do not need a visa. Non-biometric passport holders from these countries, must apply for a Schengen visa.
Applicants that must use another country's visa service:
When Norway has no embassy in a country, another country handles visa applications based on their rules. In Armenia and Georgia, France is representing Norway. In Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, Germany is representing Norway. In Uzbekistan Italy is representing Norway. In Kazakhstan Lithuania is representing Norway. In North Macedonia Sweden is representing Norway.

Norway is representing Denmark in visa and residence cases in Azerbaijan and Kosovo. Norway is representing Iceland in visa cases in Azerbaijan, Kosovo and Ukraine.If you are applying for a visa to travel to one of these countries, you should follow the same process as if you were to apply for a visa to Norway.

Norway also represent Denmark for residence permits in Azerbaijan and Kosovo. If you are applying for a residence permit for Denmark, you must do the following:
1. Contact us to receive information on how to pay the application fee. For information on the fee, please see Fees - UDI
2. You must bring the receipt of the paid fee to Norway and all supporting documents and hand in the application to VFS Prishtina or VFS Baku. VFS should not take biometrics.
3. VFS will forward the application to us in Ankara
4. The Norwegian Embassy in Ankara will send your application to the Danish Immigration Services.
5. If Denmark approves your application, the Embassy will issue your entry visa and return your passport to VFS. If you are visa free, we will return your passport when we have registered your application at the Embassy.
